What is a Curated Class?
A session with The Curated Class is a lively, collaborative seminar, kicked off with a welcome check-in and personal table name tents, setting an atmosphere of connection and conversation. Attendees receive thoughtfully designed, user-friendly notes with plenty of open space for thoughts, doodles, and sketches — produced in larger fonts and built to support class activities. Collaborative activities naturally tap into the knowledge and experience already in the room. Lifelong learning is driven by curiosity rather than pressure, and there are never any tests or homework. Most classes culminate with tangible artifacts to keep and share with family and friends. The Curated Class is an engaging, enriching experience that proves learning doesn't retire.
Instructors that are lifetime educators & industry experts
Course development and creative instructional design is what we do, and we love doing it. We are also lifelong learners with most of us having spent decades in traditional teaching roles while others instructed on-the-job.
Jennifer Adkins-Stroh has taught for nearly 20 years in various levels of K-12 education, including upper elementary, but most notably 13 years at the high school level. She possesses two lifetime Wisconsin teaching licenses and a Master's Degree in Advanced Studies of Science Education.
Her passions are in creative, authentic instructional design to truly engage learners to deepen comprehension and open doors for more learning. Case in point, she opened a "one-day only" restaurant with her fifth graders as a result of a book they were reading together as a class! It's been many years, but she still crosses paths with former students who love to reminisce with fondness and vivid detail about the experience. She definitely considers herself a lifelong learner.
